(CON)FISSA DIMORA
(WITH)STABLE ADDRESS

“This set of pictures is the part of an on going project in which I decided to explore a paradox of Italian language. In Italy homeless are called "persone senza fissa dimora" (people without a stable address), By the way observing the habits of the homeless in Milan, my hometown, I found out that many of those people collect objects and organize them to a precise point in the city that becomes for them a place to return to, building up what we can call home .

I thought to document how they live this space, discovering that some are organized and others not, some prefer to live isolated and others in groups.
As time passed, Con Fissa Dimora evolved from a simple project of documentation of a social situation to a reflection on the concept of "home" and the fact that it is where we return and it does not matter that it does not even have a wall or a roof

Moreover, without denying the suffering of those people, their activities enlightens the human need of possession and security in a different way and leads me to recognize that I am separated from them by few sliding doors.”
